Development of innovative “waste-to-value” technologies for sustainable recycling of rare earth elements and high-value recycling of magnets

The project enables the sustainable conversion of rare-earth-bearing waste into high-performance Nd-Fe-B magnets through innovative “waste-to-value” technologies. The project’s main objectives are to enable high-efficiency sorting and extraction of REE (rare earth elements), to produce high-purity metal precursors, and to design next-generation magnets for e-mobility applications.

The total estimated value of the project amounts to EUR 8,069,708.00, of which the co-financing amounts to EUR 4,999,305.75.

The operation was selected for co-financing under the public call “Promoting the Implementation of Research and Development Programmes (TRL 3-6)” (JR RR PROGRAMI (TRL 3-6)).

The operation is partly financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund and by the budget of the Republic of Slovenia.
